Man, what a fun show we had at the Tiki Bar last night opening up for Manali! It was so fun to play at such a kick ass venue. The sound was soooo awesome, the band was on fire and the energy was moving! What a night! I hopped off the stage and my heart was racing. I can only imagine the rush of a big show. I have played a few from time to time, but not really with the full band. I have been a solo acoustic act for so long, it almost seems unbelievable when I get to rock out with the guys. If I am dreaming, please don’t wake me up.
I just got back from the show tonight at Viento Y Agua. I have to admit, I was a feeling kind of nervous heading over to the show- if fact- I felt like a total basket case. I was trying to get my daughter fed and she was jumping up and down on me like a rabid monkey on a jungle gym while I was trying to eat. That in turn made me run late, which is one of my least favorite things to be, then I felt frazzled and unfocused so ultimately the last place I felt like being- was up on stage- which was were I was expected to be in less than half an hour.
Never-the-less, walking into the space immediately cleared my head and by the time our first song was over, the music took me far away from the craziness of the day and into the joy of playing with Steve and Jon. The amazing thing about music is how it can shift my mood and put me right back into the moment, with all the other worries and frustrations of the day left where they should be – in the past.
We got the show recorded tonight, so I will post a tune or two up in the next few days. I hope you enjoyed your evening as much as I did mine.
